THE 2022 Yamaha Variety: The Children’s Charity Jet Trek took off from Mackay on Sunday 20 March headed for their final destination in Port Douglas.

Over a hundred jet skiers made a pit stop at Alva beach on Tuesday to refuel and partake of a delicious luncheon catered by Ayr Surf Life Saving Club.

Slightly sunburnt and tired, the Trekkers were glad to alight from their vehicles, stretch and socialise with their waiting support crew for a few short hours.

After leaving Alva, the group’s next destination was Townsville where they enjoyed a dinner and awards presentation.

Burdekin Catholic High School Principal Craig Frattini took part in the event for the fifth year. He was motivated to join the fundraising initiative by seeing first-hand the impact the charity had on the lives of disadvantaged children.

Fundraising for Variety is not limited to special events and donations can be made year-round. To find out more about the event visit www.variety.org.au
